The depth of the lake, which is about two kilometres long and about 300 meters wide, is about seven meters deep. The concept of homestay has also been brought here in collaboration with the state government. Various works are being carried out for the conservation and expansion of the lake with a budget of more than Rs 10 million. Work is being done to expand the land of the lake, clean it, build a retaining wall, build a boat pavilion and enhance the beauty of Butwal as a tourist area. Development work has been taken forward. The tourist traffic has been increasing since the operation of the boat in this lake. The boat was inaugurated by Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel last February.

Work has also started to build a view tower and a playground near the Dham premises. The Narainapur area is also considered a Buddhist historical site. Butwal, which is currently a fast-growing market area, is developing as a busy city. Tourism experts say that there is a lot of potentials to develop the region as a peaceful and scenic tourist destination at a time when congestion, dust and smoke are increasing day by day. There is a possibility of developing integrated tourism by connecting Sainamina, Devadaha and Naukatti including Butwal under Buddhawali.
The entire village is now becoming a new attractive destination after Butwal managed the lake of the natural wetland area that is being filled and eroded. Butwal has done exemplary work in connecting the community, developing tourism and expanding the tourism sector. A master plan has been formulated to develop the tourist and historical areas of the area including the lake. The work completed as per the master plan is estimated to cost Rs. 1.28 billion.
